Having your pool can be one of the best investments you make in your lifetime which will have a wonderful and lasting effect on your life. You will have your private oasis to create memories with family and relax in the afternoon and hot summer this can add more fond childhood memories. Pools come in various shapes, sizes, and styles from affordable to extravagant.

Here is the list of pools with their advantages and disadvantages that will best suit for your home.

Above Ground Swimming Pool:

Above ground pool is a temporary pool that can stay up all year long. It is designed so that it can be put up and taken down at the owner’s discretion. It requires less maintenance than an inground pool it is less likely to have things like dirt and bugs crawl into it which is easy to fix if you ever need repair. As compared to the inground pool the installation of the above-ground is a breeze and costs several thousand fewer dollars than the inground pool. You might be able to recoup some of your cost by reselling it.

Though having the advantages over the cost of the installation these pools are restricted on their depth and design. It is generally found in 3 shapes rectangle, circle, and oval. It is more visually appealing than the average above ground pool. Its average life span is 10-15 years half than the inground pool. It can damage easily with the lining and wall of the above-ground pool which doesn’t increase the home value.

Vinyl Liner Inground Swimming pool

It is the cheapest option for an inground pool and can be versatile in any shape and size. the vinyl liner makes all surfaces of the pool smooth and because of the flexibility with the steel walls, a vinyl pool offers more design options, size, and shapes. Their material cost is low and as a result, it will cost less initially than the concrete and fiberglass counterpart.

Though the liner is an integral part of the pool it itself has a disadvantage. Since the liner is of polymer it can break down over time and need to be replaced often which will generally not be cost-effective in a long run. The life of these pools lasts between 7 to 12 years. The vinyl liner pool looks much cheaper and temporary other than available options. Also, these types of pools are no longer sold and there is another type of pool generally chosen over these.

Concrete (Gunite) Swimming Pools:

Concrete Gunite swimming pools are popular for their versatility in shape and durability. It is one of the most common types available today. Gunite is the composition of sand, water, and cement, and it’s the same as regular concrete but unlike traditional concrete pools it is poured by section into wooden frames, gunite is applied in layers using a specialized spray gun because of which it is extra durable as well. The pool can be designed and customized to fit any shape, size, and depth.

With its advantages there are some drawbacks associated with it. Being a concrete pool high maintenance is required to keep thes pools clear and clean. It needs to be resurfaced on and average of 8 to 15 years. Roughness of the surface and the time it takes to build is another drawback to it.

Fiberglass Swimming Pools

Fiberglass swimming pools are in-mold, handcrafted pools that are home ready to be installed. The fiber glass comprises of millions of interwoven glass threads covered with polyester resin which makes it best choice for the material for your inground swimming pool needs. These type of pools requires very least amount of maintenance among the pools availale on the market today. It can be installed in very short period of time. Another great benefit of these pools is that there are ranges of designs available for these type of pools.

Since these type of pools needs to be transported via road to the home site this is one of the disadvantages associated. Also there are limited dimension of the swimming pool and if you want some variable dimension of the pool then concrete pool is the only option. Also being made with an expensive mold there are limited designs to these pools.

So these are the pools variety that is available for a home and we have a conclusion that if you are ok with the size and design available for the fiber glass pool then it is the most recommended pool over the above ground and vinyl liner pools.
